This 850-acre property is situated at the gateway to the Illinois River Canyon – nestled up against the Siskiyou Mountains and overlooking the beautiful Deer Creek Valley. SFI's facilities include unlimited primitive camp sites, two yurts, a state-of-the-art solar bathhouse and a covered picnic pavilion.





Camping, Group Yurts, Dorm Rooms, and Private Rooms available.
Hostel-style Kitchen, Pavilion, and Indoor Classroom for weddings, reunions, retreats, conferences and weekend getaways.*

DCC Red Yurt and Solar-heated Bathhouse
Green yurt (sleeps 18) and solar-heated bathhouse.


Camping 
$12 per campsite


Camp out under the beautiful stars of the Illinois Valley at Deer Creek Center. Bring your own camping gear. If you plan to cook, bring all your own tent, sleeping bag, cook stove and food. Use of the solar powered bathhouse, complete with showers, is included.  

Yurt Space (canvas bed in a shared room)
$17 per person per night (large yurt w/ heating and AC)

$12 person (smaller yurt without electricity)

Stay in one of our two spacious yurts. One is heated and cooled and it's comfortable year round; our natural yurt. Just bring your sleeping bag, personal items (including towels) and food. Use of the solar powered bathhouse, complete with showers, is included.

​Siskiyou Field Institute’s offices are located onsite in the historic Kendeda House, which also boasts a large classroom, three private bedrooms, a dorm room that sleeps six, a fully stocked kitchen, a spacious great room and a covered porch overlooking the valley and the mountains beyond.

SFI's facilities are available for rent year-round. Whether you’re looking for a place to stay while you explore the hiking trails and wild rivers of the Klamath-Siskiyous, a home base for your research project, a location for your next business retreat, or a place to host a special event – SFI has a lot to offer!
