rugged and beautiful Illinois Valley.

This majestic 850 acre property is situated at the gateway to the

Illinois River Canyon. At one time a ranch and former playground

of John Wayne, the property is now used to facilitate research

teams, conferences and retreats, and is the year round home of the

Siskiyou Field Institute.

Camp under the clear night sky, stay in a cozy yurt,
bunk in our dormitory or treat yourself to one of the center’s private rooms. During your stay you can easily become immersed in the natural world. Nestled in the Klamath-Siskiyou Mountains where hiking trails, rivers and streams are abundant, the Deer Creek Center is a short drive away from the Oregon Caves National Monument, Kalmiopsis Wilderness, majestic redwoods and ocean beaches. Continue your exploration of the valley by visiting renowned wineries and artisan shops during your stay at the Deer Creek Center.
