During this 2+ day course, you’ll become acquainted with the edible and medicinal values of many Klamath Mountain plants. Hikes in the Mt. Eddy and Mount Shasta areas and discussions at the Flowing Waters Retreat Center will provide insights into the vascular plants, fungi and lichens we encounter – their taxonomy, evolutionary biology, phytochemistry, syn-ecology (plant community affiliation), edible, medicinal and toxic aspects. Previous experience with keying or prior knowledge of botany or medicinal plants is NOT required. Our instructor has practiced herbal medicine for 43 years and co-owns a botanical extract manufacturing business.
Flowing Waters Retreat Center in Stewart Springs will serve as our home base.
