Plant I.D.
Instructor: Ken Carloni, Ph.D.
Dates: Friday-Sunday, April 26-28, 2019
Location: Meet at SFI, Selma, OR
Tuition: $120 (includes admission to Glide Wildflower Show)

This course will give beginning botanists a guide to plant family characteristics and the basics of using a simple key to identify native plants. Students will meet Friday afternoon for a classroom introduction to botany, practice on a short local foray, then spend most of Saturday out in the field learning to key. On Sunday, students meet at the Glide Wildflower Show just east of Roseburg and apply what they’ve learned. Expert botanists have labeled and organized the 600-700 native southwest Oregon plants on display, providing a unique practicum for newly acquired botanical knowledge! Meet for carpooling to the Glide Wildflower Show at a location to be announced.
