2019 Edible Mushrooms of the Siskiyous

Learn how to safely identify and collect local mushrooms found in the Siskiyous. In a classroom intro, discover key characteristics of typical species and acquire skill in differentiating the poisonous and inedible from the edible types. We’ll also discuss cooking techniques and share recipes. The class will then carpool to a field site and search and identify fungi commonly found in Illinois Valley forests.
