Understanding and Identifying Dragonflies

Damselfly

Dates: July 16th (evening) 17th – 18th, 2010

Location: Deer Creek Center, Selma, OR

Instructor: Kathy & Dave Biggs

Tuition: $50 Sat or Sun; $100 both days

Naturalist Certificate, Kid Friendly age 12 +

Dragonflies are among Earth’s oldest and most successful creatures, yet most of us can’t tell them apart or interpret their seemingly bizarre behaviors. Saturday, get to know the basics studying anatomy and biology of the creatures, followed by a short foray into the field. Sunday’s class covers advanced knowledge and a pursuit of those species not as easily found. Choose one day, or register for the weekend and receive a free signed book by the author/instructor: Common Dragonflies of California, 2009 edition. Don’t miss the Free Evening Program, “Wildlife Ponds & Dragonflies,” July 16th at the Deer Creek Center.
