Date: March 13 – 14, 2010

Location: Deer Creek Center, Selma, OR

Instructor: Daphne Stone, PhD

Tuition: $100

Join the Siskiyou Field Institute and Daphne Stone, PhD for a two-day workshop covering four lichen genera common in the Pacific Northwest that are tough to identify: Bryoria, Melanelia, Peltigera and Usnea.  See demonstrations on how to perform chemical spot tests and how to look at the medulla and undersides.  You will study specimens of species you may have previously seen only in keys.  Photographing or drawing specimens for a personal reference notebook will be encouraged.

To register for this course, visit www.thesfi.org or call 541-597-8530 for more information. We encourage you to register for institute courses at least 2 weeks in advance, due to limited space and course cancellation deadlines.
