Designed for your family, youth, or adult group,
an SFI Youth Instructor will provide the guidance, games
and science for a 4-hour field trip
at Deer Creek Center's 850 acre campus.

Choose One of the Following Programs:

L.E.A.D. - Challenge games and communication skill building for children and adults
ages 8-80. Fun and challenging games and activities that engage, encourage and educate in leading and learning to communicate through: Listen, Empower, Accountable, Demonstrate.

Salmon & Streams - Explore Deer Creek to experience first-hand the water cycle, use field equipment to identify macro-invertebrate indicator species, learn to read a field guide, and understand the life cycle of salmon and their sensitive habitats.

Orienteering with Compass & Map - Learn the parts of a compass at Deer Creek Center's main campus, acquire the skills to read a topographic map at our upper geology area, then traverse the landscape to safely practice navigating on our open-field compass course.

Nature Journaling & Biological Illustration - Observe with your senses three habitats at Deer Creek Center - fen, Jeffery pine savannah, and riparian to practice recording your observations in a field journal. Illustrate the famous Cobra Lily at our fen at Eight Dollar Mountain, learn about wildlife, and take in the view of the mountainous landscape to complete your journal - yours to take home and share with family and friends at the end of your adventurous day.

Tree Identification - the Klamath-Siskiyous are home to one of the most botanically diverse mixed conifer forests in the world. Travel our campus with a guide and learn to identify the wide variety of trees found at Deer Creek Center.
