Please Note: Deer Creek Center is a pet-free and smoke-free facility. Thanks very much for your cooperation! 

Registration: Due to limited space and course cancellation deadlines, we encourage you to register for SFI courses at least two weeks in advance. You can register for classes online, or by phone at 541-597-8530.

Course Schedules, Itineraries, What to Bring, Background Reading, etc: Approximately one month before the beginning of each class, students will receive a course letter detailing meeting time and place, any necessary supplies, appropriate clothing and a recommended reading list (if applicable). If SFI cancels a course due to circumstances beyond our control, you will be personally notified and a full refund will be issued.
 
 
Payment Policy Prior to Beginning of Course:
 
 
30 or more days before course date
$25 or 25% of tuition, whichever is greater (to reserve space)
29 to 15 days before course date 50% tuition due
14 days before course date Balance due
 

Cancellations and Refunds:
If SFI cancels a class due to circumstances beyond our control, we will personally notify you and you'll receive a full refund.

If You Cancel your Registration Policy:

 
30 or more days before course date Full refund (minus $25 administration fee)
29 to 15 days before course date 50% refund (minus $25 administration fee)
Less than 14 days before course date No refund
 
*Note: There is a $25 non-refundable administration fee for each course.
 
First Aid and Field Safety: participants should be prepared to spend the day outside. The distance and difficulty of hiking in each course varies: check the course description in our course catalog for more information, or give us a call at 541-597-8530. Participants are also responsible for their safety and for carrying their own first aid kits. If you have allergies or a potentially life-threatening condition, please note this on the safety waiver all participants sign at the beginning of each class. You are required to carry appropriate treatment for such conditions during the course.
 
Weather: Courses take place in all weather conditions. Participants are responsible for appropriate footwear, hats and clothing. A list of suggested clothing and gear in included in each course letter.
 
Scholarships: Siskiyou Field Institute has scholarship opportunities available for many of our classes. For more information, email institute@thesfi.org or give us a call at 541-597-8530.
 
Youth: In addition to the classes offered through SFI's Youth Education Program, children are recommended on many of our regular field courses. Please check each course description for more information about the appropriate ages for each class.
