Gull I.D. Workshop

Instructor: Russ Namitz
Date: Saturday-Sunday, February 25-26
Location: Meet in Crescent City, CA
Tuition: $110

Early Birding Special: Gull I.D. Workshop plus Raptors of the Klamath Basin - $150

This weekend-long workshop is designed for mid-level birders who generally know their adult gull species but want to sharpen their skills distinguishing species of various ages and in various plumages.  We will visit several coastal sites in and near Crescent City to observe gull behavior and species differences in morphology. Along with gulls, we will see many other shorebirds and some marine mammals as well.  We will meet at the Battery Point Lighthouse parking lot at the north jetty.   From there we will travel north to Alexander Dairy and the agricultural fields of Smith River to look for gulls.
